On May 30, 2013, Cortlan Wickliff, at 22 years of age, will become the youngest African American to graduate from Harvard Law School, Cambridge, Mass.


Cortlan completed his BS in Bioengineering at the age of 19 from Rice University making him the youngest African American engineer in the US at that time.

In addition to his academic accomplishments, Cortlan has been a strong community advocate mentoring, tutoring and encouraging middle school, high school, and college students to excel in their academic and life pursuits being considered by many a role model.

He is next headed to Texas A&M University to complete a PhD in Engineering while planning to play a significant role in the growth effort of the new Bio-Technology corridor being built in the College Station area.


Cortlan's parents are Dr. Tanya Dugat-Wickliff of Liberty and Anthony (Tony) Wickliff of Raywood


Tanya is the niece of Dr. Henry L. Dugat whom she shares the same birthday with.


Her father is J.W Dugat and mother Velma L. Mitchell.


Tony Wickliff is the son Raymond A. Wickliff and Marva Wickliff.
